Well, here at Interstate Cycles we've got a few tips that will help you stay nice and cool as you ride. Dress Smart

The first smart choice you can make when you're heading out for a ride in any condition is dress smart. What does this mean if you're trying to stay cool? Well, perhaps contrary to what would seem obvious, make sure to wear full protective gear. Covering your arms and legs will help keep the sun off of your skin, and the heat that your clothes collect can be pulled away by the airflow while you ride. To keep your core cool, wear a vented riding jacket that provides some breathability. Make sure your helmet is also ventilated properly, as sweat pouring into your eyes can become a distraction on the road. Keep in mind that the color of your clothes will also make a difference if you're spending an extended amount of time on the road. Lighter colored clothes will do a better job reflecting heat, while dark blacks will absorb and hold more.

Use Water Wisely

Water is what the human body uses to cool itself, so make sure your body has plenty. Keep a water bottle on hand and drink frequently to make sure you can continue to sweat. Pro tip: If you stop sweating after an extended period in the sun, you haven't become resistant to the heat, you're probably growing dehydrated, which can quickly evolve into heat exhaustion and heat stroke. While drinking water is the best way to maintain a cool core temperature, you can also use water to remain cool and comfortable. A damp bandana will cool your body as the water evaporates from the cloth, the same principle applies to a T-shirt, so as long as moving air can reach your clothing this evaporation effect will be a great way to cool off.

Ride Intelligently

If you're starting to warm up while you ride, take a break in the shade. You and your bike can take a moment to cool off. If you're riding a bike with a adjustable or removable windscreen, you can make the choice between reducing the buffeting from the wind and losing airflow with the screen deflecting more air, or allowing more airflow at the expense of a more exhausting ride in the wind. On the bring side, many bikes allow you to switch this on the fly, so you can always change your mind while your riding.

Hopefully these quick tips will help you keep cool while you're riding your motorcycle.
