Going Sand Riding With Your ATV
ATVs are, as their name suggests, designed to be ridden on all types of terrain, and that includes sand. If you're lucky enough to live near a beach with sand dunes, then you’ve got the perfect environment for going dune-riding on your ATV. Here's a quick guide on how to ride your ATV in the sand.
Upgrade Your Tires
First of all, you'll need to get different tires for your ATV. These tires will have paddles on them that help you to gain traction in the sand. They may also be wider than your regular tires to improve stability and reduce your risk of rolling over. You might also want to add a little bit of air to your tires so that they have more contact with the ground.
Go Slowly
Remember to ride smoothly and make gradual turns. If you make sudden movements, you'll just end up digging yourself into a hole in the sand. T he best way to get unstuck is to dig out the sand around your tires and then try rocking the ATV back and forth until you're free. If you take it slow and steady, you'll be able to enjoy a fun day out riding your ATV in the sand.
